Lie With Me by Philippe Besson

If you loved “Call Me By Your Name” by André Aciman, you will also adore this book. The protagonist, Philippe, writes of his memories surrounding his high school lover, Thomas. This was France (small town) in the ‘80s, so the boys felt ashamed of their feelings. The route and ending of this novella is sad, yet heartwarming, (And, it’s translated by Molly Ringwald!)
