Author Event with Moriel Rothman-Zecher

In parnership with the Ohioana Festival, we're excited to announce that Prologue Bookshop will be hosting author Moriel Rothman-Zecher on April 25th at 7pm. Moriel Rothman-Zecher is an American-Israeli poet, writer, and activist, living in Yellow Springs, Ohio. His first novel, Sadness Is a White Bird, is a powerful and emotional work about an Israeli teenager reconciling his relationship with two Palestinian siblings with his deep love of Israel. This is an event you won't want to miss -- we hope you can join us.

Open Mic Night

Prologue Bookshop is hosting an open mic night! Anyone is welcome to read poetry or short prose fiction or non-fiction work. (please keep it family-friendly) The event is free for all. Reading is first-come, first-serve on the day of the event.

Capacity is limited, so make sure you arrive early if you want to read! Readers should sign in at the door.

Author Poetry Reading Featuring Khaty Xiong & Jessica Jones

Prologue Bookshop is hosting an Author Poetry Reading with Khaty Xiong & Jessica Jones reading their own work. Join us and enjoy their poetry!

Khaty Xiong is a Hmong American poet living in Gahanna, Ohio. She debuted with her 2015 poetry collection "Poor Anima." Jessica Jones is currently a full-time instructor at Kent State University where she teaches poetry, creative writing, and composition. She is the author of the poetry collection "Bitterroot."

Nita Sweeney comes to Prologue Bookshop to discuss her new book Depression Hates a Moving Target.

Having run an incredible, three full marathons, twenty-six half marathons (in eighteen different states), and more than sixty shorter races, Nita knows better than anyone that it takes a great deal of effort and perseverance to beat depression. And she knows you can do it too.

Hoppin' Hound is an Easter hop through the Short North. Event check in is at Bar 23 (584 N. High St.) where you will receive cotton tote bag (handmade by 'Let’s Make it Personal') complete with The Cakehound logo for your goodies and a list of all participating businesses. At each business you'll be given a homemade cookie made by The Cakehound in eco-compostible packaging. This super fun event gives dogs and humans the chance to socialize, eat, have a libation or two, shop, and enjoy the neighborhood. Who doesn't want to eat, shop and have a couple of drinks with their dog?!?! The Short North has changed drastically, and there are a plethora of new shops to explore.
